Anthony Paserchia
Dan, you sent me my shore shot in August. Just in time for me to take it to Cape Hatteras for Labor Day week. And I really appreciate it because we never caught more fish down there than we did with the shore shot. In fact, the Thursday after labor day out on the point, I must have showed the launcher to over 60 people.
Everyone wanted to see us fire it and would hang out until I would launch another Bait bullet. It also didn't hurt that from 9:30 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., we were the ONLY people catching fish! Out of my 12 bait bullets I shot that day we lost 1 to malfunction at launch (the line was looped over the rod tip), 1 caught a 42lb sharp nose shark, 5 caught black tip sharks between 30 and 16 lbs, 1 sea turtle (yeah no kidding),2 spinner sharks that broke my line (all week ),1 unknown monster that took my bait and then proceeded to strip 560 yds of my line. It just ran straight from shore and constantly accelerated to the point where I kind of
panicked when I couldn't slow the spool even with my hand. Not wanting to be spooled, I cranked down on the drag which broke my line.
The 12th and final fish was a very expensive fish. While I was putting my nearly spooled rod and reel in the back of the truck, I turned to see my other rod (a Penn 12' rod with a Fin Noir Off Shore Spinner Reel, ouch) get pulled, sand spike and all out to sea! Yes, I ran in after it but that dam fish always kept it about 10' from me til I was up to my ears in the surf. But even with my terrible loss, it still has to go down as the best day of fishing I ever had. The coolest thing was that my bait stayed where I shot it. Instead of the rip tide pulling my bait up the beach every 15 minutes until its in the surf, it stayed put. Everyone was blown away at the fact that our lines were still out of the water 150 Yds away. If you stood under the line you could see my yellow braid cutting through the waves beyond the break. Awesome!
I gotta believe some of the people we met are gonna be calling you if they haven't already. Everyone kept saying how the launcher would be perfect for whatever fish ( I can't remember what kind ) shows up in the spring. Apparently people actually kayak their bait out to where the fish are.
So thats it. I just ordered another dozen bait molds. In a couple of weeks I'm gonna use it here in Jersey. I'm attaching some pics and a video I took with my phone. If it makes it too you, pay attention to the reaction of the guys watching. Thanks again, Anthony Paserchia.
